Princess Kate Middleton Breaks Silence Amid Absence At Missing Royal Ascot

Princess Kate has broken her silence following her absence from Royal Ascot, sharing a personal message to highlight the importance of children’s hospices. In a heartfelt statement, the 43-year-old praised the “extraordinary work” of children’s hospices, which provide vital care to families facing the heartbreaking reality of a child with a serious health condition.

As patron of both East Anglia Children’s Hospices (EACH) and Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice in South Wales, Kate emphasized the support these organizations offer, lifting spirits through “laughter, fun, and play, as well as listening, holding, caring, and sharing.” Her message coincided with the end of Children’s Hospice Week, during which she expressed deep admiration for the compassionate care provided to children and families during the most challenging times.

Reflecting on her own experiences, Kate shared, “No parent expects to hear that their child has a serious health condition that could shorten their life. Sadly, this is the reality faced by thousands of families.” She encouraged others to join her in celebrating the life-changing work of children’s hospices.

In January, Kate visited Tŷ Hafan’s centre in Sully, South Wales, marking her role as its new patron. She contributed to a wall of handprints from families supported by the hospice, following in the footsteps of her late mother-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales, and the King.

Kate’s message comes just days after she missed attending Royal Ascot. Although she was disappointed to miss the prestigious event, she continues to adjust to her life after her cancer diagnosis. After six months of preventative chemotherapy, she confirmed in January that she is in remission. Kate has made a gradual return to her royal duties, attending key events such as the VE Day commemorations, Trooping the Colour, and Garter Day.
