Solidarity camp in Karachi backs international convoy to Gaza

KARACHI: A solidarity camp was held outside the Karachi Press Club to express support for the Global March to Gaza, drawing political, religious, and civil society leaders, alongside students and human rights activists.

The event was jointly organized by Palestine Foundation Pakistan, Federal Urdu University, and think tank KAP. It voiced backing for the international land convoy that began in Algeria and has now reached Egypt, where it has been stopped at the Rafah border crossing.

Participants condemned the Egyptian authorities for using force to block the convoy and preventing humanitarian access to Gaza. They also held the United States responsible for supporting the blockade and criticized its role in the region.

Speakers at the camp denounced recent Israeli attacks on Iran, calling them acts of state terrorism. They further accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza by restricting aid and launching attacks on civilians.

The speakers demanded that Muslim governments sever diplomatic ties with Israel and urged Pakistan to take a stronger position in support of both Palestine and Iran.
