KARACHI: In a significant political meeting on Sunday, former federal minister Senator Faisal Vawda hosted Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence in Karachi.
The two leaders discussed the country’s pressing political issues, with Vawda lauding Fazl as a vital mentor and emphasizing the need for his leadership to stabilize Pakistan.
Vawda raised concerns about the misuse of tax funds by certain groups in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for violent activities, claiming that such actions undermine national security.
He expressed confidence that Fazl’s leadership could help tackle these challenges and guide the country towards political and economic stability.
Maulana Fazl, in response, emphasized the critical role of unity in Pakistan’s political system. He pointed out that no government can function effectively without JUI-F’s involvement, underscoring his party’s commitment to working with all stakeholders for the nation’s prosperity. The two leaders also condemned the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, stressing the importance of peace and diplomacy in the region.
The meeting also touched on the need for constitutional reforms and effective governance. Vawda highlighted the government’s failure to implement necessary changes and expressed his desire to seek Fazl’s advice on future political strategies.
Earlier, Maulana Fazl met with industrial leaders in Karachi, where he reiterated the importance of protecting the business community. During his meeting with prominent figures, including Sultan Chawla and Arif Habib, Fazl stated that Karachi, as Pakistan’s economic hub, relies on its traders for national development.
He called on the government to ensure the safety and dignity of business leaders, emphasizing that economic prosperity is essential for the country’s progress.
Maulana Fazl, who is continuing his meetings in Karachi, is scheduled to address the JUI Sindh Digital Media Convention in the coming days.
