ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has reiterated that Balochistan is Pakistan’s lifeline and that foreign-backed terrorism will not destabilize the country.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Tarar said that despite 32 attacks during Operation Bunyan un Marsoos, Pakistani forces have remained resolute, ensuring that peace will eventually return to the province.
Tarar accused India of using terrorism as a foreign policy tool, citing the killing of a Sikh leader in Canada as a recent example. He further alleged that Indian intelligence agencies are behind the unrest in Balochistan, referencing Kulbhushan Jadhav—an Indian Navy officer arrested in Pakistan for his involvement in terrorism.
He also criticized Indian leaders, particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for repeatedly mentioning Balochistan in their speeches, indicating India’s strategic interest in creating instability there.
The minister highlighted the role of Indian media in spreading misinformation, pointing to the Jaffar Express attack footage, which appeared on Indian news outlets before Pakistani authorities had access to it.
He accused Indian media of promoting fake news and glorifying separatist elements. Tarar also condemned the portrayal of terrorists like Noor Wali as heroes on social media and criticized Indian outlets for giving undue attention to such individuals.
Tarar concluded by stressing that just as India faced defeat in direct conflicts, its proxies in Balochistan will also be defeated, paving the way for lasting peace in the province.
