ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir assured that the Pakistan Army remains fully alert and ready to decisively confront any threat, emphasizing that peace in Balochistan is non-negotiable and the province’s stability is vital to the country’s future.
Speaking at a Grand Jirga in Quetta’s Zehri Auditorium, Munir praised the bravery of security forces and law enforcement operating in Balochistan. He condemned India’s open role in sponsoring a proxy war against Pakistan, stating there is concrete proof of India’s involvement in terrorist networks targeting the province.
“These nefarious attempts will fail,” Munir said. “With the support of the nation and the courageous Baloch people, the army will crush every enemy challenging our sovereignty.”
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who addressed the Jirga alongside Munir, noted that Indian-backed groups are intensifying efforts to destabilize Balochistan and disrupt development projects. He urged locals to deny terrorists any social space and praised tribal elders for their constructive role.
Shehbaz vowed the government and armed forces would relentlessly pursue terrorists and their facilitators, ensuring they find no sanctuary in Pakistan.
The Jirga concluded with tribal elders pledging full support to the government and armed forces for Balochistan’s security, stability, and progress.
Earlier, Shehbaz visited Quetta’s Command and Staff College, emphasizing the need for professional excellence and operational readiness amid evolving threats, particularly in sensitive regions like Balochistan targeted by Indian-sponsored proxies.
