Pakistani diplomatic team to visit US to challenge India’s war narrative

ISLAMABAD: A high-level Pakistani diplomatic delegation led by former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will travel to the United States to expose what Islamabad calls India’s false war narrative.

The delegation, appointed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is scheduled to depart for the US on June 2. It will first visit New York for meetings with the United Nations Secretary-General.

After New York, the team will proceed to Washington, where it will hold talks with senior officials from the previous Trump administration. The delegation plans to brief US and UN Security Council members on Indian actions in Kashmir and challenge India’s version of the conflict.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formed the diplomatic committee amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India. The group’s mission is to bolster Pakistan’s global position against Indian aggression.

Sources indicate the delegation will also travel to Europe to raise awareness about the Kashmir issue. Other committee members include Musadik Malik, PML-N’s Khurram Dastgir, former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar, and ex-diplomat Jalil Abbas Jilani.
