A man in Jaranwala died after setting himself on fire when his former wife declined to reconcile with him.
Muhammad Alam, a resident of Chak No. 53/GB, had divorced Sadia Bibi three months ago. He attempted to take her back, but she refused, prompting him to pour petrol on himself and ignite the fire.
Rescue officials rushed him to the Civil Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. Police reached the scene, completed legal procedures, and handed the body over to the family.
In a separate incident in Faisalabad, police arrested three suspects including Ahmad Raza for allegedly kidnapping his ex-wife and daughter at gunpoint in Millat Town. A viral video of the abduction led the CPO to order multiple raids, resulting in their arrest under Section 496A of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Meanwhile, nine suspects were arrested after aerial firing at a mehndi ceremony in Dhadiwala injured a 25-year-old man named Abdul Rehman. He was shifted to a hospital, and Faisalabad CPO Sahibzada Bilal Omer has called for a detailed report on the incident.
