Indian diplomacy utterly failed during Indo-Pak tensions: International media

NEW DELHI: International media reports have revealed that Indian diplomacy failed completely during the recent Indo-Pak tensions, while Pakistan’s peaceful and proactive diplomatic approach received wide recognition at the global level.

A report by the BBC stated that the Modi government’s multi-alliance foreign policy proved ineffective, as no major country openly supported India. In contrast, key nations such as China, Turkey, Iran, and Saudi Arabia were seen standing with Pakistan.

China declared full support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, while Turkey lauded Pakistan’s stance on the global stage. The simultaneous visits of the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia to Islamabad sent a clear message that Pakistan was being prioritised diplomatically.

India was also dealt a severe blow by the role of the United States. India was unaware of the ceasefire announcement made from Washington, and US President Donald Trump did not even mention terrorism in his statement—delivering a diplomatic setback to the Modi government’s narrative.

The reports noted that Pakistan’s narrative dominated international media coverage, while Indian claims such as so-called “surgical strikes” were largely dismissed by the global community. In contrast, Pakistan presented credible evidence to support its claims and welcomed US mediation in a positive manner.

Defense analysts observed that India is increasingly becoming isolated not only on the battlefield but also on the diplomatic front. The international community focused on de-escalation, disregarding India’s repeated attempts to label the issue as an “internal matter.”
