Sindh Interior Minister confirms killing of prime accused in journalist’s murder

KARACHI: Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hasan Lanjar announced that the main accused in the murder of journalist Mohammad Mehr was killed by police during an operation in Shikarpur’s katcha area. Lanjar praised the Shikarpur police for their thorough investigation and efforts that led to the elimination of the prime suspect. He also noted significant reductions in crime, highlighting a decline in kidnapping for ransom and honey trap cases since he assumed office. Additionally, he reported the death of several dacoits during encounters in the same area and emphasized the improvement in policing efforts under the direction of the Additional IG Karachi.
