LAHORE: A Pakistani military spokesperson confirmed that the Pakistan Army successfully intercepted and downed an Indian drone near Walton Road in Lahore on Thursday morning. The drone, measuring approximately 5 to 6 feet, was reportedly being operated from across the border and was carrying explosives. It was shot down using a jamming system before it could reach its intended target. Authorities have not specified the exact nature of the target.
Earlier reports indicated that multiple explosions and sirens were heard in the vicinity, causing panic among residents. However, subsequent investigations revealed that these sounds were associated with the drone’s interception. No casualties or significant damage to infrastructure have been reported.
This incident occurs amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following a series of Indian airstrikes on Pakistani territory. Pakistan has condemned these strikes as violations of its sovereignty and has vowed to respond appropriately. The situation remains fluid, with both nations on high alert.
