- Free Khan now to counter Modi’s hybrid warfare: Sh Waqas
- Presses govt to awaken from strategic slumber, as India building dams to choke water supply
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram vehemently condemned the Punjab Police for “manhandled, shoved and dragged” the sisters of PTI founder Imran Khan, along with senior party leaders and workers, outside Adiala Jail as they peacefully waited for meeting their incarcerated leader.
In a strongly-worded statement on Tuesday, PTI Central Information Secretary Shaikh waqas Akram said the police’s high-handedness was not only a gross violation of court orders but also a vile act of disrespect toward the family of the nation’s most beloved and legitimate leader. He termed the physical assault on women and peaceful citizens as a chilling reflection of the fascist regime’s fear-driven tactics and authoritarian mindset.
He blasted the Punjab Police for blatantly defying the judiciary with complete impunity—acting as tools of political repression rather than protectors of law and order. Waqas warned that such brazen acts of state brutality, especially during a period of mounting national security threats, are dangerously divisive and a direct assault on Pakistan’s democratic foundations.
He demanded immediate accountability for those responsible, stressing that the regime’s continued crackdown on constitutional rights and basic human dignity would only fuel further unrest and resistance across the nation.
PTI CIS further said the illegitimate government lacked the courage to speak a single word against war-mongering supremacist Narendra Modi, yet unleashed the full force of unlawful, unconstitutional, and undemocratic tyrannical tactics to crush PTI and further isolate the unlawfully incarcerated national leader, Imran Khan.
Waqas strongly condemned the timid and submissive stance of the illegitimate government in the face of growing hostilities from RSS-driven Hindutva-led India, demanding immediate release of Imran Khan to send a strong message of national unity to the war-mongering Indian premier.
PTI CIS stated that India is exploiting Pakistan’s internal political instability and serious human rights violations to build a case for placing Pakistan back on the FATF grey list, while the country’s rulers remain in a state of sweet slumber. Waqas warned that the situation has become so alarming that international airlines are now avoiding Pakistani airspace, while India continues to build new hydroelectric projects to choke Pakistan’s water supply in clear violation of the Indus Waters Treaty. PTI CIS expressed grave disappointment that despite these critical developments, the illegitimate regime remained obsessively focused on political vendettas, arbitrarily arresting PTI leaders and workers, implicating them in fabricated, politically-motivated cases, and systematically targeting social activists while ruthlessly suppressing media freedoms.
PTI leader further condemned the government’s controversial decision to approve hefty pay raises for its brigade of state ministers amid escalating Pak-India tensions and a worsening economic crisis, a move that has only exacerbated public anger and discontent. Waqas lamented that instead of providing relief to the suffering masses and forging national unity to confront Indian aggression and the growing terrorist threat, the regime persisted in its oppressive tactics of political victimization to prolong its illegitimate rule.
He stated that at a time when the fascist government should have adopted a more aggressive approach on the diplomatic front, convened an All Parties Conference (APC), and released the unlawfully incarcerated PTI founder to foster national unity and send a strong message to RSS-inspired Narendra Modi, the Form-47 government has shockingly intensified its campaign of coercion, repression and tyranny to silence legitimate dissent across the nation.
PTI CIS raised grave concerns over the deafening silence of Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, who remained conspicuously absent from national discourse even as government ministers routinely warned of an imminent Indian attack on Pakistan—a shocking and inexcusable dereliction of leadership during a national security crisis.
Waqas emphasized that if the bogus regime were truly committed to combating terrorism, it would not rely solely on kinetic actions—which have failed to deliver results for over two decades. Instead, he stressed the need for a holistic approach and called for the immediate release of long-denied funds to the ex-FATA region, as promised under the merger formula, in order to address the deepening sense of deprivation and bring it at par with the rest of the country.
PTI CIS also slammed the global diplomatic isolation caused by the government’s weak and imposed leadership. He noted that at a time when world leaders like Vladimir Putin are calling and preparing to be hosted by Narendra Modi, not a single global leader is willing to call or meet Shehbaz Sharif—clearly reflecting the international community’s rejection of a government that lacks legitimacy.
He urged the state to adopt a bold, proactive foreign policy to expose India’s malign activities and aggression. Waqas stressed that Pakistan must awaken from its strategic slumber and counter the Modi regime’s provocations with unwavering clarity, courage, and national unity.
