Rabi-ul-Awwal moon sighting meeting set for Sep 4

ISLAMABAD: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will convene on September 4 to sight the Rabi-ul-Awwal 1446 AH moon at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, with Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad presiding over the session.

Key figures involved include Director General Syed Mushahid Hussain Khalid, responsible for coordination, and Zain-ul-Abideen from the Ministry of Science and Technology. Technical assistance will be provided by Chief Meteorologist Dr. Sardar Sarfaraz of the Pakistan Meteorological Department and Ghulam Murtaza from SUPARCO, who will participate via telephone.

Prominent members of the Central and Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, including Mufti Zameer Ahmed Sajid, Mufti Muhammad Iqbal Naeemi, Mufti Abdul Salam Jalali, and other religious scholars, will attend the meeting. Zonal committees across the country will also hold meetings at their respective headquarters in Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar.

Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, will announce the final decision regarding the sighting of the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon.
