Big drop in solar panel prices in Pakistan, demand increases

Solar panel prices in Pakistan have witnessed another major drop, bringing relief to consumers looking to switch to renewable energy.

As per the dealers in Karachi, the cost per watt of solar panels has now decreased to between PKR 30 and PKR 32.

This reduction comes as a result of a sharp decline in global lithium battery prices, which have plummeted by 50% over the past year. However, Pakistani importers have been criticized for not fully passing on the benefits of these global price reductions to local consumers.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time solar panel prices have fallen in the country, indicating a positive trend for the adoption of solar energy.

Despite the reduction, consumers are still urging for more transparency and fair pricing from importers to make solar energy more accessible and affordable for everyone.
