Sanam Javed faces extended remand over May 9 cases

GUJRANWALA: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Gujranwala on Monday ordered a four-day physical remand for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Sanam Javed in connection with the May 9 vandalism cases.

After the initial remand period concluded, Sanam Javed was presented before the court, which, upon hearing arguments from both sides, granted the police request for further custody.

Previously, the ATC had granted bail to PTI activists Sanam Javed and Aliya Hamza in three cases related to the May 9 violence, while interim bail was granted in a fourth case registered at the Musa Khel Sargodha police station.

On April 17, the same court had remanded both activists to seven days of physical custody in another vandalism case.
