Court puts off hearing of Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi’s bail pleas

ISLAMABAD: A court in Islamabad on Monday adjourned the hearing of bail petitions filed by former prime minister and ex-PTI chairman Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in seven cases registered against them at different police stations of Islamabad until tomorrow (Tuesday).

Six cases were registered against Imran at Tarnol, Ramna, Secretariat, Kohsar and Karachi Company police stations while one case relating to producing fake receipts in the Toshakhana reference was registered against his wife at Kohsar police station.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra heard the pleas.

Salman Safdar and Sardar Masroof, counsels for Imran and Bushra, respectively, appeared in the court.

In their report submitted to the court on the failure to mark the former prime minister present in the court via a video link, the Adiala Jail officials said it happened because of an issue with the internet.

The judge ordered the court staff to visit Adiala Jail and Banigala residence of Imran tomorrow to mark them present.
