SC fixes for hearing Qasim Suri’s case over alleged rigging

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) on Friday fixed for hearing National Assembly’s former deputy speaker Qasim Khan Suri over his allged rigging.

In 2018, Suri was declared ineligible for alleged rigging. However, former chief justice of Pakistan Omer Ata Bandial had issued a stay order against his disqualification. Suri served as the 19th deputy speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 15th August 2018 to 16th April 2022. He had also been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from August 2018 till January 2023.
