Army soldier martyred in North Waziristan

RAWALPINDI: A personnel of the armed forces on Monday got martyred during an exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists in North Waziristan.

“On 08 January 2024, fire exchange took place between security forces and terrorists in North Waziristan District. Own troops effectively engaged terrorists’ location and apprehended one terrorist in injured condition. However, during intense exchange of fire, Havildar Muhamamd Zahir (age: 41 years, resident of District Mardan), having fought gallantly, embraced Shahadat,” says an official handout issued by the ISPR.

“Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area. Security Forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the statement added.
