PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer chief Sirajul Haq on Sunday called on the 57 Muslim countries to support Hamas in their fight against Israel’s illegal and unjust occupation of Palestine, saying Pakistani nation is ready for all kinds of cooperation with Hamas.
Addressing a news conference here on Sunday, Sirajul Haq said that Palestinians were fighting against oppression and cruel occupation and Muslim rulers are afraid. “The US supported Israel and the Muslim world remained a silent spectator.”
He said, “I want to say to the president, prime minister and army chief that Pakistan is an ideological country. Pakistan announced support for the Palestinians from the first day. Pakistan will always support the Palestinians compared to Israel.”

He called upon the United Nations to support the oppressed Palestinians. “It is time to test the honour of the Muslim world.”
He said, “The sun of freedom will rise soon. Al-Aqsa Mosque is the holy centre of Muslims. Living and dying for the protection of Al-Aqsa Mosque is a great jihad.”
Siraj said, “If we get a chance, we will first bring the system of Quran and Sunnah. The world’s tyrannical powers do not want to see Pakistan becoming a fortress of Islam. All these people are slaves of the IMF (International Monetary Fund).”
The JI chief said the people “who pass the bill cannot make any changes”.
He said, “Hundreds of our people have been in parliament but no one is accused of corruption. In Pakistan, the JI is the only corruption-free party.”
Siraj said the solution to the problems of the Ummah was in the complete obedience of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings. “When the teachings of the Quran will be common, only then will things be blessed in life.”
He said the entire Ummah salutes the Palestinians for their struggle to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque, urging the Muslim countries to fully support them in this difficult time instead of leaving them alone.
On the ongoing economic hardships in the country, Siraj said that there could be no improvement in the economy due to the usury system. “Relief should be given to the people. We demand an immediate reduction in the electricity tariff, food, and petrol prices.”
Terming the JI as the voice of the people’s rights and the hope of the country, Siraj said they would continue the peaceful protest movement.
