India cannot suppress Kashmiris’ freedom sentiment: Saghar

ISLAMABAD: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter Convener, Mahmood Ahmad Saghar, has said that India cannot suppress the freedom sentiment of the Kashmiri people through its oppression and suppression.

Mahmood Ahmad Saghar in a statement issued in Islamabad said the Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has started a campaign to evict people from their lands and homes in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir with the sole aim of changing the demography of the territory.

He said the measures taken by Modi’s fascist Indian government in the occupied territory are a clear violation of the international laws, as Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory.

He said after the illegal and unilateral actions of August 5, 2019, the Indian government has accelerated its atrocities against the innocent Kashmiris and has, so far, given domicile certificates to lakhs of Hindus in IIOJK to turn the majority of Muslims into a minority.

Mahmood Ahmad Saghar said the Modi government is using terrorism as a state policy to intimidate Kashmiris. He added that Kashmiris were making a lot of sacrifices for freedom from India which would not go waste.

He appealed to the world community and international human rights organizations to play their role in stopping Indian atrocities on innocent Kashmiris and help settle the Kashmir dispute according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
