Punjab CTD rounds up seven terrorists in province-wide ops

LAHORE: The personnel of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) have arrested seven terrorists belonging to outlawed organisations in operations conducted across Punjab.

A CTD spokesman informed on Saturday that the arrested terrorists were identified as: Zahid Khan, Abdullah, Nauman, Akram, Siddique, Ahsan and Shoaib.

According to the spokesman, in total 29 suspects were interrogated by the CTD teams and resultantly five cases were lodged against the accused.

Explosive material, weapons and banned literature were also seized from the arrested terrorists, the CTD spokesman said.

He further revealed that during the last seven days 461 combing operations were carried out in different areas of Punjab during which 21,000 persons were scanned and checked.

As many as 55 suspected were taken into custody during these combing operations, the spokesman concluded.
