ISLAMABAD: Maryam Malik of Pakistan Army clinched the Girls Under19 title of the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) Junior Squash Circuit No 3 here at the Mushaf Squash Complex on Friday.
Maryam downed Meshwish Ali of Sindh by 11/5, 9/11, 11/3, 9/11, 14/12 (3-2) in the final.
PSF organized the said tournament as part of Juniors’ Development Programme and Talent Hunt at grass root level. The tournament included competitions of Boys U-11, 13, 15, 17, 19 and Girls U-19 age categories.
In the finals played, in Boys U-11, Mamoon Khan (PAF) beat Faizan Ali (PB) 2/11, 11/3, 6/11, 11/8, 11/9 (3-2).
In Boys U-13, Noman Khan (PAF) outplayed Ahmed Khalil (PAF) 4/11, 11/8, 11/3, 11/6 (3-1).
In Boys U-15, Azan Ali (Army) defeated Mubeen Khan (PAF) 11/3, 11/8, 11/6 (3-1).
In Boys U-17, Abdullah Nawaz (PAF) took victory over Huraira Khan (PAF) 11/9, 8/11, 11/7, 11/9 (3-1).
In Boys U-19, Anas Ali (PB) sealed win against M Ammad (PAF) 11/8, 11/8, 7/11, 11/6 (3-1).
Senator Prince Agha Omer who was the chief guest at the closing ceremony distributed trophies to the players. Vice President Qamar Zaman was also present on the occasion.
