Court grants pre-arrest bail to Asad Umar, Afridi

ISLAMABAD: A court in Islamabad on Thursday accepted the pre-arrest bail applications filed by PTI General Secretary Asad Umar and former interior minister Shehryar Afridi in a case registered on charges of violation of section 144.

In his petition, PTI leaders had said that he was ready to cooperate with police in interrogation of the case.

They went on to say they feared that the police would arrest them only to demean and insult them. “When PTI was holding rallies across the country on the call of its Chairman Imran Khan, I was in Lahore,” they said, and prayed to the court to accept his bail plea in the case.
