Man launches bloody knife attack in upscale Karachi neighborhood, critically injures two

Incident took place in a heavily guarded upscale Karachi housing society run by the Pakistan Air Force.

KARACHI: At least three men were brutally attacked at a housing society in Karachi over a minor parking dispute, late Tuesday night.

The victims were identified as prominent fashion designer Moazzam and his two sons. Both parties involved are residents of the same housing society and are neighbours.

Following a verbal spat, the suspect, one Ibrahim Durrani violently attacked the victims, with a small Swiss Army knife that can be seen attached to his car keys, injuring two persons in the limits of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Falcon Complex Karachi.

One of the victims arguing with the perpetrator seen here holding the weapon, shortly before the attack

Graphic videos doing rounds on social media show Durrani hurling threats at both victims as while a security guard attempts to diffuse the situation. Durrani during the entire verbal exchange is wielding the knife that he later uses to cut and stab the victims.

A bloodied motionless shirtless body of one of the more critically injured victims can later be seen in the video as his terrified family and nearby residents attempt to revive him.

According to police, an FIR has been lodged against the attacker and his father Air Commodore Khalid Durrani.

Both victims were shifted to hospital in time and are in a stable condition.

Various posts on social media and the attacker’s LinkedIn page showed that he is an employee of multinational company Philip Morris International Pakistan, working there since 2012, however, a spokesperson from Philip Morris clarified to Pakistan Today that Durrani left the company a year ago and no longer works there.

“Despite being a well-guarded and patrolled neighborhood under the management of the PAF, such an incident still took place and the attacker got away as well. Thankfully there was no loss of life”, commented a resident of the housing society who was not a witness.

Pakistan Today contacted the Head office of Falcon Complex based in Islamabad and were told that at the moment no relevant person was available to comment.

  1. Well it would be bias to assess the brawl which would be a high common one as an incident of an intentional point of aggression or a security concern as it involved citizens only over criminals where the one I think acted defensively in his own assumption of being oppressed and nevertheless brawl resulted in two victims who will recover (إِنْ شَاءَٱللَّه).

      • Indeed but normally all of them do depart justice so cant be bias on not letting him depart as well, Nevertheless I just read the same news on Express Tribune which says left them with a critical condition where the intensions can be termed as for a kill against sustainable injuries and god forbid which if the case than should be executed as such. God have mercy on them. Amen.

  2. Let’s be honest Pakistan is a country where laws are not applicable to the military so no serious action will be taken against him. This is just sad and makes me lose more hope in this nation.

    • The culprit is civilian and northing to do with defense forces. Being son of Air Force officer does not make him defence person. It is the duty of civilian forces to take adequate action

      • Dear officer…
Please guide the security personnel ( who are supposed to be also the personnel of PAF or Shaheen foundation) at the Falcon complex society, that how to handle the offsprings of officers in such a situation…🧐🐅

      • Chutiyapay ki baatein nahi karo. Ye apni gaand ka zor lagaey ga apni gandi aulaad ko bachanay ke liay

      • if you are so stupid to blame the attack on security forces who had nothing to do with this, look for an appointment with a brain surgeon

        • Abay kutti kay bachay tujhay bhi pata hai ke ye fauji gaandu apni aulaad ki haramzadgion pe parda daalne ke liay gaand ka zor lagaey ga. Zyada maasoom na ban. Ye sab gunda raaj hai bhenchod

    • Indeed, The macro and the micro political environment has taken its toll and in numbers over decades since the country came into existence the poor citizens suffer the wrath of the unjust how can we call it a fix after studying this incident it is clearly a matter of Pakistan’s Internal Security, The faith in Pakistan Military is definitely behind a question mark.

      • Paak forces and paak air forces are sacrificing their lives on border. So what if the son of these great men act like this. It is their right.

  3. Is janwar k bachay or is k kanjar baap KO Jo k retd hy kutton k jesa sulook hona chahiye just on a parking issue they have committed such a heinous crime

  4. Extremely sad incident , showing lack of humanity and I’m just speechless on his intolerance towards simple car park issue, hopefully he’s caught and this insane man put behind bars,he’s a threat to humans

  5. This deranged man on the loose has repeatedly committed such crimes. A close source told how he beats his own mother brutally while his father encourages him.
What do you expect, his father is a crazy man himself and has raised his son to be a monster. The judges and lawyers are all in their pockets, and no one will be punished. It is indeed a sad state of affairs. May Allah punish them in a way that they deserve to be punished!

  6. Muhammed Usman!
I totally agree! The armed forces and their kins can get away with murder without even a speck of fear of consequences! The rich, the powerful never get to face the music!

  7. Nothing will happen the country is full respected educated jahil.
They are sitting on the top notch seats with no brains. The guy looks toxicated.
He will be free and victims will get couple of lakhs to compromise the situation.

  8. Dear Soon we will see this donkey behind bars. He is civilian and will held responsible for all this. Air force has nothing to do with it. His father retired 20 years ago.
……But what role the security staff played is pathetic even school class monitors can defuse such a situation. He should have been more aggressive towards someone yeilding a knife.

  9. He will leave for Dubai or UK…lay low for 2-3 years while here media is told by army to suppress all reports and paint victims as part of RAW conspiracy to undermine integrity of armed forces. Family will receive threats from army institutions to forgive the criminal with some money. Everything will go on as usual in this rotten failed state.

  10. It is one after another incident..chain of events where army personnel or their close relatives are using anger against them who are they supposed to protect.
Chowkidar karay raaj! Dilemma of 3rd world nation. You have gun to use it to secure your people not to harass them. CIVILIANS pay for luxurious life.

  11. Lol it’s interesting how some bloody endian trolls are commenting above pretending to be Pakistanis, typical patheticness.

Secondly this seems more like a personally targeted manipulative trap – you know mob a neighborhood guy who already is of a short temper, make him angry to the point of aggression, keep one guy ready with the camera for evidence.

Then when he does lose his temper, and does something dumb – boom! Click click and start attacking him and his retired father, and all anonymous trolls start commenting rubbish as planned. Attacking our military, air force etc.

To those endians and political pawns of corrupt jahil politicians – beta hum Pakistaniyon ko itna halka na lein, jo aapka shadeed trashy game haina? usmein hum aaney waley nahin!

Haan he banda chahey jo bhi ho, if he’s wrong then he will get punished, if he’s trapped and oppressed then the others should get punished as well.

But we love and respect our Pak Military and Pak Air force and Pak Navy and Zindabaad to all of them.

Now keep on burning and desperately trying to play your sneaky endian games.
Btw this is how a decent educated person comment, without using gandi galiyan. Tsk tsk.

    • OK I am not an Indian and i totally disagree with your illogical & pointless comment. Come out from day dreaming & see where are the Indians now, they don’t even reply your questions (I am not talking about Juhala’s). Go out and see where are they and you are no where nearby…
Only shouting at the social media couldn’t earn respect or superiority. Do something and show the world you are superior, Now we are purchasing vaccine from India, why couldn’t we make it??? only because we are only born to talk without doing something.
So what if somebody is short temper??? It’s his weakness “Chor Wohi Hota Jo Pakra Jaata”.

  12. Today, he stabbed three people–from the video it clear that he did with complete intention and fully informed that these attacks are fatal–over a wrong parking. Tomorrow he will kill people just because he didn’t want them to stay alive. This man should be met with justice as soon as possible and this the responsibility of public to not stay quiet until he meets justice.

  13. Folks its a simple stabbing case. Here in US it happens on every block every night. Its not that brutal as it is here.

  14. Kindly stop bashing 3 forces working under one banner of armed forces….they r the ones sho have been valiantly fighting for the safety of all within the borders…n well respected around the world. Being judgemental is not becoming to ANYONE.
