NAUDERO: After a surge in coronavirus positive cases here in the hometown of the Bhutto family, Ratodero Assistant Commissioner (AC) Abdul Wahid Channa, accompanied by Naudero SHO, ordered the closure of six bazaars here on Saturday for 14 days.
According to the details, shopkeepers were forced to close down shops immediately at 12 pm.
These bazaars include Shahi Bazaar, Resham Galli, Kiryana Bazaar, General Store, Sarafa Bazaar and tailor shops.
Even medical stores and grocery shop owners have been ordered to remain shut for two weeks.
During the AC’s visit, the Naundero SHO was ordered to immediately wear a mask to force other denizens to abide by SOPs by setting an example.
The SHO, who was scolded for not following SOPs himself, vented by abusing shopkeepers who delayed the closure of their shops.
So far, 40 Covid-19 positive cases have been detected here out of which 10 surfaced on Friday alone while two people expired within hours as well.
Residents, especially villagers, are ignoring social distancing, wearing face masks, other preventive measures and treating the matter like a joke despite massive awareness by electronic and print media.
