ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Wednesday appointed Akbar Hussain Durrani as the federal secretary for Information and Broadcasting in place of Zahida Parveen.
Durrani, a Grade-22 officer, was earlier posted as the secretary Inter-Provincial Coordination.
According to sources, Zahida Parveen was removed due to to her alleged differences with Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan.
Zahida Parveen was asked to report to the Establishment Division till further orders.
SAPM Firdous was not available to comment on her reported differences with the former information secretary.
