QUETTA: A female polio worker was injured by unknown gunmen at the Eastern Bypass of Quetta on Wednesday.
According to police sources, polio worker Ghazala was near Bhosa Mandi at Eastern Bypass when armed motorcyclists opened fire at her and fled the spot. As a result, she received bullet injuries.
Police reached the site and shifted the injured to a nearby civil hospital’s trauma centre for medical aid.
The hospital spokesperson, Dr Waseem, said that the victim is being treated under the supervision of the hospital’s medical superintendent.
Police cordoned off the entire area and have started efforts to trace out suspects.
