Pakistan beat Oman 8-1 in Asian Hockey Champions Trophy

MUSCAT: Pakistan, on Monday, defeated the host Oman by 8-1 in their third match of Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2018 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat.

Aleem Bilal scored a hat-trick while Muhammad Irfan, Irfan Junior, Ammad Butt, Aby Mahmood and Muhammad Atiq scored one goal each to give Pakistan their second victory.

Team Pakistan now has six points on the chart table and can easily make it into the semi-final if they do not lose big in their remaining games.

Earlier, Pakistan defeated South Korea by 3-1 in their opening match of the tournament but lost to neighbouring rival India by 3-1.

Pakistan next faces Japan and Malaysia on October 24 and 25 respectively.

The biennial event is being held in Muscat from October 18 to 28 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex and features Pakistan, India, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea and the host country Oman.
