KARACHI: Sindh government on Friday called to conduct inquiries against 18 senior police officers over allegations of corruption and illegal appointments.
In a letter submitted to the Establishment Division by the provincial government’s Services General Admin Department, 18 senior officials of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) were identified.
In a letter, the Establishment Division was asked by the provincial government’s Services General Admin Department to conduct inquiries against 18 senior officials of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP).
The letter explained that the Supreme Court’s inquiry committee had previously declared the 18 officers to be involved in illegal appointments.
Sukkur, Larkana and Benazirbad were the regions in which the illegal appointments were made with the senior officers making millions in the process, the letter elaborated.
Sain Rakhio Mirani, Khadim Hussain Rind, Javed Alam Odho, Sharjeel Kharal, Abdullah Sheikh, Javed Jiskani, Aitzaz Goraya, Pir Muhammad Shah, Pervaiz Chandio, Usman Ghani and Nasir Aftab are some of the officers involved in the matter, read the letter.
Umar Farooq Salamat, Khalid Korai, Zafar Iqbal, Fida Hussain Shah, Altaf Hussain Leghari, Junaid Shaikh and Imdad Ali Shah are also among persons the letter asked to conduct inquiry against.
