ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday decided to use the Results Transmission System (RTS) in the upcoming by-elections.
Earlier on July 26, ECP Secretary Babar Yaqoob had said that the delay had been caused due to a malfunction in the RTS.
Opposition parties have demanded that the RTS failure should be probed.
Moreover, letters were issued by the electoral body to returning officers (ROs) directing them to use the software.
Using the RTS is compulsory, according to the letters.
Furthermore, the presiding officers and the assistant presiding officers will receive the RTS on their phones from the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
