Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan remained absent during Saturday’s Senate elections due to which he did not even cast his vote in the National Assembly.
Though missing entirely from the picture, Khan shared a tweet after Saturday’s Senate polls alleging rampant horse-trading during the polls.
“Senate elections yet again witnessed shameful horse trading where MPAs bought & sold their votes as country witnessed this sale of their “elected” people to highest bidder,” he said in the tweet. “This shows moral decline of our political class,” Khan said further.
Apart from the PTI chief, other important names that did not cast their votes in the elections, included Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan leader Farooq Sattar and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed.
After Saturday’s Senate elections, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was expected to replace Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) as the largest party in the upper house.
