LAHORE: Two constables and two officials of the Civil Defence were arrested for allegedly resorting to firing that caused the death of three protesters.
According to Kasur DPO Media Cell In charge, constables Shafique and Rashid, and two officials of Civil Defence – Abid and Amanat – have been arrested.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had expressed displeasure over the incident of firing at protesters without any order or permission of some high government official.
The CM issued explicit directions that strong legal action be initiated against the police officials responsible for the firing.
