KASUR: The All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) observed a full day’s strike and staged a sit-in outside the deputy commissioner office against the privatisation of health and education departments here on Tuesday.
According to the details, clerks of different departments gathered outside the deputy commissioner’s place of work and chanted slogans in favour of their demands.
Addressing the protesters, APCA President Mehr Muhammad Yaseen said that the government should stop the privatisation of health and education departments.
He demanded the regularization of the employees’ contract and added that the government was not fulfilling its promises made with the clerks. Yaseen also demanded utility allowance, group insurance and house requisition on retirement for all the employees of Punjab.
APCA General Secretary Nasir Ghani, Syed Saleem Qadir, Muhammad Ilyas Bhatti, Sarwar Khan, Riaz Ahmed Arshad, Muhammad Jameel, Imtiaz Khan and others were also present on the occasion.
