Bench hearing Imran Khan disqualification case disqualifies Nawaz Sharif

(Disclaimer: this is a work of fiction. Learn to take a joke; you’ll live longer.)

This just in: the bench hearing the disqualification case against Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan has finally given its decision and disqualified former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

Though the decision is still in line with the adverse decisions against the PML (N) chief, it still surprised many since the case was in no way related to the former prime minister.

Legal experts weighing in on the short order say that it is still not clear what, exactly, the former chief had been disqualified from. “He is no longer the prime minister and the law has clearly been amended by the ruling party to ensure he still leads the party,” said lawyer Babar Sattar. “So the detailed judgment might ask Nawaz Sharif the resign from his position as Nawaz Sharif.”

Legal experts also predict that Shehbaz Sharif is to be disqualified in the hearing against PTI leader Jehangir Khan Tarin.
