KARACHI: Provincial Education and Literacy Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar said on Monday that the issues of primary school teachers are being addressed on a priority basis, adding that it was also the fundamental duty of teachers to perform their duties honestly.
He said this while talking to a delegation of members of the All Sindh Primary Teachers Association in his office. Members of the association Intezar Chhalgri, Ghulam Rasool Mahar, Sikandar Ali Jatoi and Syed Anasdin Shah were present on the occasion.
Dahar urged upon the teachers to help the government reopen closed schools and to identify those who were not performing their duties. He also asked the concerned officials to pay regular visits to their respective schools and ensure a proper students-to-teachers ratio so that educational activities might run smoothly.
The minister expressed confidence that their objectives could easily be achieved it everyone worked together. He asked the teachers to ensure their attendances and to pay most dedicated attention to their jobs.
He further asked the teachers to play their part in achieving the target of having a hundred percent literacy rate in Sindh.
Members of the teachers’ association also put several issues that needed addressing in front of the minister, to which he responded that they would be addressed on a priority basis.
