Sindh IGP orders security alert in wake of Lahore blast

KARACHI: Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khawaja has directed that security arrangements should be further strengthened in the province in wake of the blast in Lahore on Monday.

A police statement said that the Sindh IGP called for extraordinary security arrangements at government buildings, residential areas, public places including shopping centres, airports, railway stations, bus terminals, mosques, imambarghas and shrines.

The IGP also instructed that vigilance should be stepped up at entry and exit points, besides random snap checking, patrolling and picketing.

The intelligence collection system is to be made more effective and coordinated, he added.
