KARACHI: Medical & Health Services Department of Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) has established a medical camp in Yousuf Goth area of Surjani Town for the provision of medical facilities to the rain affectees.
KMC Senior Director of Medical Services Dr. Mohammad Ali Abbasi, while talking to PPI, said that a medical camp had been established in Union Council-38, the Yousuf Goth area of Surjani Town. He said a 10-member team comprising doctors, paramedical staff and nurses had been deputed to provide medical facilities to the area people in the medical camp.
He informed that many areas of Surjani Town had been submerged after heavy rain that occurred last week. He said that the stagnant rain water could cause an outbreak of dengue, malaria, Chikungunya and other waterborne diseases in the area; therefore, a medical camp had been set up on the directives of Karachi mayor.
Dr. Abbasi said that scores of children, women, elderly people and men were being treated in the medical camp every day while medicines and consultation were also being ensured to the area people to prevent them from the waterborne diseases. He said that the medical camp would be in place in the area till drainage out of the stagnant water from the area.
