Chinese Ambassador to Canada calls on Pakistani high commissioner

 

Chinese Ambassador to Canada Lu Shauye paid a visit to Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Canada Tariq Azim Khan here at the Pakistan High Commission on Saturday.

High Commissioner Tariq Azim Khan while welcoming the new ambassador said that he would be pleased to work with the Chinese counterpart. He said that the importance of strategic relations between the two countries is at the heart of Pakistan’s foreign policy. He added that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will bring dividends not only to China and Pakistan but will enable people from all countries of the region to share progress, prosperity and development.

The Chinese ambassador said that with the visit to the Pakistan High Commission, he has started his interaction with the diplomatic corps in Ottawa and added that Pakistan is an important country for China.

He informed the high commissioner that the Chinese government is holding a high-level international conference in May this year, where 25 heads of states are expected to participate in exploring opportunities related to the regional trade.
