China hails Pakistan’s fast paced economic growth

ISLAMABAD: China highly appreciates Pakistan’s fast economic growth, and wished a prosperous future of its people, said Chinese ambassador Sun Weidong.

“ Pakistan has recently emerged as the fastest growing Muslim country in the World and its leadership deserved appreciation for their concerted efforts securing a better future for their people, “ he said while speaking at MoU’s signing ceremony held here at a local hotel.

The MoU was inked between Pakistan-China Institute (PCI) and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).  It was aimed at developing a professional skill of the people in order to provide manpower support to China-Pakistan Economic corridor (CPEC) and One Belt One Road (OBOR) that is an initiative of Chinese President Xi Jinping for developing connectivity among the countries located on Silk route through road, rail and sea links.

Under the MoU, The PCI, led by senator Mushahid Hussain Syed will work with ACCA for professional development in the field of management and accounts. They will also join hands to promote people-to-people contacts in social and cultural fields.

Ambassador Sun Weidong further said President Xi Jinping’s initiative of OBOR has provided historical opportunities to both China and Pakistan to consolidate their all-round strategic partnership.

He noted the Sino-Pak partnership was reaching to new heights with the implementation of CPEC. It was a matter of great satisfaction that the execution of projects under CPEC was going through satisfactorily, he added.

He was glad that there was a complete consensus among the all parties and groups in Pakistan on pushing forward CPEC in its true spirit, he added.

The signing ceremony was also addressed by the chief executive of ACCA Helen Brand OBE and Senator Mushahid Hussain. Executive Director PCI Mustafa Haider Syed signed the MoU on behalf of the Institute, while ACCA was represented by Sajjeed Aslam. It was attended among other by some members of the Parliament.
