Saudi Arabia bans transgender people from performing Umrah

The Saudi government has decided not to allow transgender people to perform Umrah.

In this regard, officials said, the Saudi authorities have refused to issue visas to the transgenders willing to visit the holy land from across the world.

Reports said Saudi Consul Generals in different countries, including Pakistan, have issued a notification in this regard.

Travel Agents Association of Pakistan has also been informed about the decision taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia directing them not to facilitate the transgender persons.

Motive for the ban was not immediately known
