Unprecedented corruption in Sindh has marred the development of this already backward province but the ruling elite is not ready to irk the corruption kings of Sindh, said Sindh former chief minister and leader of Sindh Democratic Alliance Arbab Ghulam Rahim.
He said millions of people in Sindh were trapped in a quagmire of poverty because the budgetary funds went into the pockets of corruption mafia. He said there was no relief for the poor in this province as the provincial rulers had broken all records of corruption. He said the development schemes in the province were being affected due to corruption and bribery.
Talking to media after offering condolence to the heirs of nationalist leader Shafi Muhammad Karnani, he said the Panama Leaks had tarnished the image of country. He said a fair probe was necessary against all people and families including the family of Mian Nawaz Sharif who were accused of corruption, commission and kickbacks.
Arbab suggested that water should be released into the River Indus to save its delta as per the agreement of 1991. He demanded that the lingering projects of the Coastal Highway should be completed on priority. He asked for more educational and health facilities in the coastal areas of Sindh including Thatta.
