Actual qalandars would have performed better than this, claims Pakistani Sufi Shrines Council

Lahore – Our Majzoob Correspondent: Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, Allama Tufail Hassan, chief of the Pakistani Sufi Shrines Council (PSSC), said that a team of holy men from the nation’s choice shrines would have performed much better in the matches of the Pakistani Super League than the Lahore Qalandars.

“Yes, the fellows at our shrines might be a little rough around the edges,” said Hassan, “but they would have played with a passion greater than the sort the team has managed to rustle up.”

“So what if most of our majzoobs haven’t played even club level cricket,” he asked. “Because, from the looks of it, neither have the Lahore Qalandars.”

The announcement by the PSSC has been met with some criticism. “Yes, the qalandars at the mazaars might have been able to play better, but so would have us clerks,” said Omer Bhatti, general secretary of the All Pakistan Clerks Association. “For that matter, anyone would have been able to play better.”
