PAF honours its martyrs

Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on Saturday observed September 7, as Martyrs’ Day at all PAF bases throughout the country.

The day started with special prayers and Quran khawani for the martyrs of 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak wars including those who have laid down their lives since the creation of Pakistan.

A simple ceremony was also held at Air Headquarters in which PAFAir Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt laid floral wreath and offered ‘Fateha’ at the Martyrs’ Monument.

Earlier, a PAF contingent led by Air Officer Commanding, Southern Air Command Air Vice Marshal Azhar Hasan Rizvi offered ‘Fateha’ and laid floral wreath at the grave of Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed (Nishan-e-Haider) on behalf of PAF chief of the Air Staff.

Principal Staff Officers and a large number of air force officers attended the ceremony. Floral wreaths were also laid on the graves of PAF martyrs throughout the country.
