KARACHI – The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday disposed of a petition regarding a treason case against former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf and directed the Interior Ministry and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to act on the matter according to laws. Iran accuses opposition chiefs of treason

TEHRAN – Iran on Thursday accused two opposition leaders of treason and vowed to block their ability to communicate with their supporters on the eve of a pro-regime “hatred” rally against them in Tehran. Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi are under de facto house arrest but have regularly issued defiant messages to their supporters through their websites, including one which led to anti-government protests on Monday that left two people dead and several wounded.

‘Hang Musharraf for high treason’

ISLAMABAD – Dr Abdul Basit, counsel for two PCO judges of the Lahore High Court, pleaded in the Supreme court on Thursday for proceedings against former president Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf for high treason and that he be hanged for “his unconstitutional acts of November 3, 2007”, which led to the ouster of over 60 judges of the superior courts.

Talal Bugti seeks Musharraf’s trial for high treason

QUETTA – Jamhoori Watan Party’s Nawabzada Talal Akbar Bugti on Monday strongly criticised former president Pervez Musharraf’s polices for ‘abrogating’ constitution and starting military operations in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.
