ISLAMABAD – The parliamentary committee for the appointment of judges on Tuesday rejected the Judicial Commission’s proposal of one year extension in the tenures of two additional judges of the Sindh High Court (SHC). The committee, headed by Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, met in the Parliament House and discussed the proposal.

KARACHI – Justice Mushir Alam – a senior judge of the Sindh High Court (SHC) – took oath as the SHC chief justice (CJ) on Monday. Alam has been appointed the new chief justice after President Asif Ali Zardari appointed former SHC CJ Sarmad Jalal Osmany and Justice Amir Hani Muslim as judges in the Supreme Court on the recommendation of the Judicial Commission.

President approves appointment of two SC judges, SHC CJ

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday approved the appointment of Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany and Justice Amir Hani Muslim as permanent judges of the Supreme Court and Justice Mushir Alam as the Sindh High Court chief justice.
