LHC directs Railways to pay salaries of legal advisers

LAHORE – Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed of the Lahore High Court Tuesday directed Pakistan Railways authorities to pay by February 14 salaries of its legal advisers, outstanding for the last month. Railways name new sports officer

LAHORE – Atta Hussain Butt was appointed the sports officer of Pakistan Railways Sports Board here on Monday. The Railways general manager took the decision in wake of the recent poor showing of the departments’ athletes in the 31st National Games held at Peshawar.

KARACHI/LAHORE – Pakistan Railways (PR) on Saturday announced an increase of up to 30 percent in fares to meet its financial crisis. A notification issued on Saturday said the railways, which owes over Rs 991 million to PSO, had announced the increase to at least meet day to day expenditures of the organisation.
