Actor Mastana passes away

ISLAMABAD – Punjabi stage actor Murtza Hassan, better known as Mastana, passed away on Monday at the age of 70.
He was suffering from Hepatitis C and was hospitalised for the past three weeks in Victoria Hospital, Bahawalpur.

No CNG sale from Monday: suppliers

LAHORE – CNG sales in Punjab will be closed from Monday for an indefinite period as the All Pakistan CNG Association has announced to shut all CNG stations against the discriminatory policies of the Punjab government.
The All Pakistan Petroleum Retailers Association (APPRA) has also announced to join the strike and shut down all petrol filling stations, demanding the Punjab government immediately evolve a policy regarding lease of petrol filling stations in the province.

ATHENS – Greek police clashed with protesters on Wednesday as around 100,000 workers, pensioners and students marched to parliament in protest at austerity policies aimed at helping Greece cope with a huge debt crisis. SECP extends amnesty schemes to Monday

ISLAMABAD – The SECP’s amnesty schemes, the companies regularisation scheme (CRS) and companies easy exit scheme (CEES) have been extended to Monday January 3, 2011.
