25th Lahore Book Fair opens today

LAHORE – The 25th Lahore International Book Fair 2011 will kick off today at Lahore Expo Center, Johar Town. Books from a wide range of categories will be presented for sale at the book fair which will continue till April 11. Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif will open the book fair that will have hundreds of stalls from India, England, America and Pakistan.

LAHORE – Two-day trials to select the Lahore Football Team for the Punjab Games 2011 will be held at Lahore’s Raiders FC Ground from April 5 to 6.

‘Human organ transplantation to start in Lahore soon’

Bus fares increased by 15pc

LAHORE – The Transport Association increased bus fares by 15 percent following the increase in petrol prices.
Punjab secretary general of the All Pakistan Transport Owners Federation and Urban Transport Owners Association, Arshad Khan announced that the inter-city buses and wagon fares have been increased due to the escalating petrol prices and the new fares .
He said that the operation of buses at old rates was not feasible after the government had increased diesel prices

Rizwan Group announce panel for Lahore elections

LAHORE – Model Town Football Club’s President Mian Rizwan Ali has announced the panel under Rizwan Group for the football elections of Lahore District for the term 2011-15. He introduced the panel members at a function held in MTFA Ground.

LAHORE – The Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) remained bearish with stagnant volume. The LSE 25-shares lost 68.33 points to close at 3,579.04 against its opening at 3,647.37 levels.
