ISLAMABAD – Reiterating government reconciliation policy, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that democratic process has been put on rails by virtue of the reconciliation policy of the government.
This policy, he maintained, has introduced a new culture of accommodation and consultation with all the political parties for deciding issues of national importance.

KARACHI – Speakers at the seminar linked Pakistan’s existing problems, including terrorism, to the absence of democratic institutions and norms. They observed that the state itself is complicit in usurping people’s rights and promoting an elite centric model of development.
