Punjab to seize cars without green stickers after this date

LAHORE: The Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced that it will begin seizing vehicles without valid green stickers starting November 15 as part of its ongoing anti-pollution efforts.

Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh, Director General of EPA Punjab, confirmed that emission testing will now be mandatory for all vehicles in Lahore. Enforcement teams have already initiated action against vehicles emitting smoke and producing excessive noise.

Dr. Sheikh warned that any vehicle found without an Emission Testing System (ETS) certificate or green sticker after the deadline will be impounded. “Only vehicles meeting Punjab’s environmental standards will remain on the roads,” he stated.

The EPA has adopted a zero-tolerance approach to polluting vehicles and will pursue legal action against non-compliant car owners. “We have launched the strictest campaign against air pollution in Lahore,” Dr. Sheikh added.
