Anti-terrorism court sentences Yasmin Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry to 10 years in prison over May 9 riots

LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore has acquitted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi, while sentencing Yasmin Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry, and others to 10 years in prison in connection with the May 9 riots case. The verdict was delivered in relation to the burning of a Supreme Court judge’s vehicle at Rahat Bakery Chowk on May 9, 2023. The hearing took place in Kot Lakhpat Jail, Lahore.

In addition to Rashid and Chaudhry, PTI leaders Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed and Umar Sarfraz Cheema were each sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment.
